Second-placed Brest suffer last-gasp 4-3 defeat at Lyon in thriller
Second-placed Brest lost 4-3 at Olympique Lyonnais after a penalty 11 minutes into stoppage time by Ainsley Maitland-Niles left the visitors 10 points behind Paris St Germain in Ligue 1.Eric Roy's side remain on 53 points, only one ahead of AS Monaco, who have a game in hand and visit Brest next Sunday.PSG are top on 63 points, with their match this weekend rescheduled ahead of Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final second leg at Barcelona, who they trail 3-2.Lyon have now gone five games unbeaten and climb to seventh place on 41 points, two points behind Lens in the race for European qualifying places.Corentin Tolisso put Lyon ahead in the 18th minute with a powerful half-volley into the top corner before Steve Mounie's header at a set-piece levelled the scores on the hour.Romain Del Castillo gave the visitors the lead with a superb free kick in the 64th minute and made it 3-1 with his second goal into an empty net three minutes later.Alexandre Lacazette pulled one back for Lyon with a close-range finish at a corner in the 70th and Nicolas Tagliafico equalised with a low shot nine minutes later.Both sides were reduced to 10 men in the 86th when Tagliafico and Pierre Lees-Melou got red cards after a scuffle before a nasty tackle by Brest keeper Marco Bizot on Lacazette gave Lyon a penalty and victory through Maitland-Niles.
